Marie-Lou Desmeules’ paintings form a distinct yet connected part of her practice, extending her exploration of image, identity, and transformation into acrylic on canvas.

Through bold color, theatrical composition, and charged surfaces, the works move between portrait, icon, atmosphere, and apparition. Their immediacy is grounded in the physicality of painting: gesture, texture, light, and the material presence of the canvas.
